Three Erotic Tattoo-themed Short Stories

Three erotic stories with tattoos as part of the culture "Beyond Temptation" by Kit Rocha - 4 stars Hot! Hot! Hot! Noah finds his best friend's little sister. She's all grown-up and covered in O'Kane ink. The secret he keeps about her brother's is the obstacle in their romance. It really wasn't too imaginative, but it was still engaging. There is actual world-building in this novella, which wasn't present in the last full novel. The sexy times are hot and erotic AND evenly spaced. If you skip this story, you'll miss out on the interesting tidbits about future heroes and heroines. "Rocky Ride" by Vivien Arend - 3.5 stars Anna is a cop. Mitch has tatts, rides a bike, and lives in a small town. Anna's family doesn't approve. There wasn't much depth to this story, although there is a prejudice toward people who don't conform to the clean-cut look that does exist, so there is a basis for "Rocky Ride." The action mostly takes place in the bedroom. There is a noted lack of danger and suspense, so if you're looking for a tatted-biker dude meets and a kinky-cop then this story is for you. "All That Remains" by Lauren Dane - DNF Two men, one woman. It's time for sex in a dystopian setting where women outnumber men. Girl Power! Polyandry is the norm is this setting. Unfortunately, the characters are as flat as a paper doll. I was not invested in these characters and this world quickly lost my interest. I have enjoyed Ms. Dane's work in the past. This is not one of her better works, in my opinion. ARC generously provided by Kit Rocha, in exchange for an honest review. I sincerely apologize for this extremely late review! (So, I pre-ordered a Beyond novella.) |
